My Fall Wardrobe Wishlist | 2017

Hello pumpkins! Now that the weather is cooling down considerably (or should be), it’s finally time to reintroduce pants and layers into my wardrobe. Hallelujah. I think that this time of year gives people so much more opportunity to showcase their style. It’s wonderful. Unfortunately, it also takes a lot more work and money (hello, broke girl over here). Either way, I wanted to share my “wishlist” for this season even if I might not be able to purchase all of these items just yet. A girl can dream.

Wide leg denim // Culottes // Checkered pants

I am eternally grateful that we have started to move away from the only skinny jeans trend because sometimes a skinny jean is great, but it can get boring and quite honestly, my legs deserve more than that. Enter the new age of pants-centric fashion. It’s glorious and I’m ready to fill my closet with new silhouettes and styles.

Patterns

 Polka dots // Multi-color stripes

While I might love the simplicity of neutral colors and solids in my wardrobe, introducing patterns is much more exciting. I usually tend to stick with florals and black+white stripes, but lately a few others have caught my attention.

I’m gonna go ahead and kindly reject the camo print trend, and bring in two other prints that I find fit my style and personality a bit more: polka dots and multi-colored stripes.

I’ve been wary of polka dots in the past, and that’s because I think they can give off a very dated (not in a good way) and almost childish vibe when used in certain ways. However, I think these looks below are super chic and current.

Now stripes!!! A black and white striped tee has been a consistent wardrobe staple of mine for a while, but let’s get real, nice colors add so much more interest. I’m all for keeping color alive.

Statement blouses

I’d also like to give a special shoutout to pajama tops like this yellow printed silk one (Urban Outfitters) pictured above. Pairing one of these tops with a pair of jeans and a cute necklace or earrings is easy, yet mature and super stylish.

Retro shades // Berets // Newsboy caps

I don’t know what it is about some shades, because I feel like popping on any of these vintage frames on your face instantly makes you look so cool. The slim cat eye is one of my absolute favorites.

Now hats. My mom has always told me I look good in hats, but I’m not 100% sold on it. However, this season I’m anxious to put this theory to the test. I’ve been digging this recent obsession with “french girl style” that has slowly but surely crept up on just about every single fashion blog. And what better way to give off the french vibe than to wear a classic beret? This is one trend I’m especially excited about this autumn (fingers crossed I can actually pull it off).

What are some fall trends you’re particularly excited about?

One more thing… I would love to stick to a posting schedule, but I’m getting busier these days, so that might not be totally realistic. Just bear with me, and I’m going to try my best to have at least one new post every week.

Until next time,

Jen
